About the role
As a Commissioning Generator Technician, you'll play an important role in commissioning, testing and supporting the power generation systems customers rely on every day.
Working alongside experienced engineers, technicians and specialists, you'll apply your expertise to real-world challenges, solve complex problems and help deliver reliable outcomes across data centres, healthcare facilities, mining operations, utilities and major infrastructure projects.
This is an opportunity to build your technical capability while working with advanced equipment, evolving technologies and some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Commission, test and sign off diesel and gas generator systems to specification and industry standards
Conduct functional testing including load bank testing, controls verification, protection checks and performance validation
Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical issues during commissioning activities
Prepare commissioning documentation including test sheets, punch lists, redlines and handover packs
Collaborate with project managers, site teams and customers to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who brings both capability and a collaborative mindset.
Required
A-Grade Electrical Licence with hands-on generator and mechanical experience
Proven generator experience in servicing and/or commissioning diesel or gas generator systems
Ability to travel locally and interstate and mobilise from the workshop as required
Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights
Highly regarded
Experience with power system controls, AVR and governor systems, PLC/SCADA interfaces and LV/MV switchgear
Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring schedules and OEM manuals
Exposure to Caterpillar® or other major OEM generator packages
